Creative Practice
Willzy is a multidisciplinary artist working across textiles, illustration, painting, digital media and soft sculpture.
Their practice is rooted in play, weirdness and emotional honesty, creating bold, characterful work that invites people to recognise themselves in new and unexpected ways. Through colour, texture and instinctive mark-making, their pieces hold humour and tenderness at the same time, balancing the surreal with the deeply personal.
Working across hand embroidery, machine stitching, appliqué, paint and digital processes, Willzy moves fluidly between materials and formats. Textile works are often made using repurposed and found materials, giving each piece a layered history and a physical sense of care. Whether analogue or digital, the approach remains the same: follow the idea, let the material lead, and build something that feels alive.
Willzy’s strength lies in adaptability. They quickly translate ideas into form, experimenting across disciplines to find the most fitting, expressive outcome rather than staying confined to one medium.
From textile pet portraits and wall hangings to puppets, illustrations and digital work, their practice centres on making pieces that feel strange, joyful and disarmingly human.
